Simularity Update 022
Lots of news to get through today from some developments over on Tumblr to new mods, some works in progress previews of new custom content coming soon, new finds, and more. Read on to find out what all is in store for you all!
First off, the Tumblr news. I deleted all the old posts from my Simularity Tumblr account and will no longer be using it solely as an update feed for pings from this blog. What does that mean? Previously, the only posts that were posted to that Tumblr were links back to this site whenever a new post was posted. From now on, the Tumblr site will be its own independent mirror site. For more info, check out this intro post. I’m still working out the details of it all such as whether to post download links directly on the Tumblr site or direct people to come to this site to download stuff. Got to think on that some more. If you still want updates in your Tumblr feed of when new posts are posted to Simularity website, don’t worry. I setup a new Tumblr sub-blog just for that purpose! Follow Simularity News and get an update in your feed whenever a new post is posted to this website! As for my Twitter, that will remain the same.
I made some more of those “seamless” site improvements I said I would do. I divided up the Mods and CC sections into pages by type and added said pages to the header menu so everything should be categorized and easy to find now. This will come in handy as the site continues to grow as more content is added.
Since my last update, I posted two new Mods. They are the Combat “Illness” Mod and the Green Thumb Trait. The first is a simple fix of an annoying piece of written dialog from the game that has always bugged me and maybe it bugs you too if you have the Get to Work Expansion Pack. The second is a new Hobby Trait for all of those who love to work with plants.
I’ve got another trait, an aspiration, and a lot trait all in the works and almost ready for release soon. I hope to have all three ready in the next week or so but it all depends on a variety of factors. I’m still testing the aspiration and I am actively working on the lot trait as I type this (ran into a tuning error). As for the trait, it’s a lifestyle trait and I want to add a little more to it then test that little addition before releasing it. So, maybe next week I’ll have some new mods for you all.
Also since the last update, I added more Custom Content. The new content posts are D9S Art for Sims Pt 6 and Tropic Sea Rugs. The first is another installment of my artworks converted into Sims objects. This time it is a new set of my artworks in square frames. I will have more artworks for you soon and if these square artworks are too big for your walls (they are larger than the wide and tall frames) then don’t worry. I have another set almost ready with smaller square frames featuring all the same artworks from this part 6 pack and the previous square frame pack. The other new content post is a set of twelve rug objects with a tropical or ocean/sea theme to them. They are medium sized rugs with a lush feel to them. Perfect for use in Sulani if you have Island Living but that pack is not required for them, only the Base Game is!
As for what’s coming soon in custom content, I’m currently working on… body hair. Yeah, really. My men are so ridiculously smooth that it’s weirding me out. So, I’m now working on painting some body hair onto them and it will be grouped! What do I mean by grouped? That means arm hair, leg hair, and chest hair will all be separate so you can mix and match as your heart desires. 😀 I’m also going to try again to create some natural looking eyebrows that don’t look like caterpillars and maybe some full body freckles addons as well since I can’t seem to find any that I really like. I’ll post a preview below of the male body hair that I’m working on so you can have a looksie. It still needs a lot more work so no ETA just yet on when it will be ready for public release.
I wanted to have more previews ready for you but unfortunately nothing else is quite to that point yet (not in my perfectionist opinion anyway). On the bright side, I posted a new Find yesterday, CC by Renorasims, and I have a few more in my drafts folder to be posts to the Finds section soon. I’m always on the lookout for more great sites though so if you have a suggestion, feel free to contact me about it.
That’s all for now as I need to get back to work on a lot of things. Thank you for viewing. I will post something new for you tomorrow (not sure yet what that will be) and I’ve got more in store for you in the coming days and weeks. Stay tuned!
