SE Day 7 On to Paradise
Besides the random festivals (which can be accessed while living in any world, not just the San Myshuno city world), Mia is running out of things to do in the city. (There’s also that crazy old lady neighbor that keeps shouting insults at Mia every time they cross paths. It’s getting old!) I’m thinking about building Mia and Seth (and Pippie) their very own dream home in the tropical world of Sulani. Even though I prefer cold temperatures, I’ve always dreamed of living in an island paradise. I’ve also thought about sending Mia to do some archaeology in Selvadorada since that’s another failed dream of mine…
The more I think about it… Yup, they are moving to Sulani! I couldn’t decide what kind of house to build them but found this cute little house on a mod site and edited as needed. I also added the following lot traits: Homey, Peace & Quiet, and Home Studio. It’s a rather small house but that’s all that this little family needs at the moment. (Check out the house below along with Mia’s new photo wall and snowglobe collection!) It’s late at night when they move in but I think tomorrow Mia will take advantage of the nearby fishing spot and work on gaining that skill. I have always loved to go fishing!
I’m still trying to figure out why Pippie’s icon keeps showing as red-orange which means uncomfortable. Running out of options, I had Seth take Pippie to the vet first to be spayed (maybe she’s in heat??) and then for a routine checkup. The checkup showed Pippie as being “fit as a fiddle” so it’s not sickness causing her mood. The spaying left Pippie in an oh so cute “cone of shame” that she had to wear for a full Sims day. Look at the cute screenshots below including the last one where she tries to play while in the cone. Reminds me so much of when Aayla had to wear one after her leg surgery a few years ago.
I still have no answers though about why Pippie’s mood keeps showing as uncomfortable unless I reset her with testingcheats. I’ll try asking in the Facebook Sims group and see if anyone else has some ideas about what could be wrong.
Mia’s good friend from the city, Supriya came over but Mia was too depressed to really talk to her or enjoy their conversation. Mia tried to express her problems and ask for advice but somehow that made the conversation “awkward” and Supriya became embarrassed. I’m not really sure what happened there.
Later, Mia and Seth went fishing together at the spot not far from their house and Pippie followed them. It was a true family outing! Mia has started keeping an aquarium of her best catches. When they got home later that night, Seth was exhausted and went to bed but Mia was filled with manic energy so she stayed up and upgraded random furniture until she became depressed again and finally went to bed.
The next morning Mia was too tense and depressed to go to work so instead she stayed home and played Density Effect until she felt better. I swear, Mia loves playing that game almost as I love playing Mass Effect. LOL I’m not sure which I’ve played more countless hours of, Sims or Mass Effect! It’s probably close!
Time for a Sulani-specific event; it’s the Town BBQ! Mia and Seth head to the center of the main island to join in the festivities and get some free yummy food! (Note: I have a mod installed that alerts me to whenever a Sulani event is happening so I don’t miss any and that’s how I found out about it!)
An oh so strange thing just happened while Mia was at the Town BBQ. A total stranger called Mia and invited her to go “someplace special”. Since she is currently manic, she accepted. Seriously, mania can cause you to take all sorts of really stupid and dangerous risks. I took a few when I was manic but luckily I came out mostly unscathed from them. Mostly. Also, I have no idea whether this is from one of the larger mods I’ve installed or the base game.
The stranger turns out to be Bob Pancakes (a Sim my Sim has never before met nor seen) and he is very sick and constantly throwing up. Okay… The special place turns out to be the hidden secret world of the Forgotten Grotto. It’s a beautiful underground cave environment. Mia goes fishing and catches some new fish (including batfish) until she too gets very sick. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea?? Time to cut this event short and just go home before something terrible happens! I’m not losing my special Sim to this weirdness! Luckily, when she got home all signs of her sickness disappeared and Mia was fine again. Such a weird, weird experience!
That’s all for today. I’m not sure how long I’m going to run this experiment but I foresee at least 10 to 15 days in total, maybe longer if I get requests or find new mods. I think tomorrow I will focus on Mia’s skills so she can take that archaeological trip to Selvadorada come springtime (it’s currently near the end of winter). Thanks for viewing and tune in tomorrow for more!
