SE2 Day 3 University Term 2
Just like for her first term, since it worked so well, Mia gets right to work on her homework and presentation board this weekend before classes. Luckily, she has no term papers this time. Yay! It’s also Love Day. Boo! After her work was done, Mia managed to give a guy a flower and do a little bit of flirting but got rejected big time. Looks like Love Day is going to suck.
Since Mia keeps getting exposed to sick Sims, I had her get vaccinated and now she’s protected from illness for 14 days. (Part of the Slice of Life mod.) That will last the rest of this term and another if she needs it. Can’t have her mood drop due to sickness while she’s trying to beef up those grades!
I’ve noticed something. Apparently when something breaks in the dorm, it’s up to Mia to fix it or else it stays broken. That’s okay. She needs to practice her handiness skill anyway and this is good practice. I also noticed that a maid comes in every few days but only cleans one thing then leaves. There’s a LOT of mess in this dorm but hardly anyone bothers to clean it up. Mia doesn’t have time so there are a lot of poofs of green steam around this place… YUCK!
Why is Mia working on her freelancer gig in the shower?!? I know she wants to get it done well before the deadline but this is ridiculous! If that thing gets wet… well, at least she’ll be able to repair it like she does everything else! If she keeps up her grades and her freelance work, she’ll be able to not only get a good job once out of university but be able to afford a much better apartment straight out of the dorm too.
Hey, both Raj and Supriya came to visit Mia at the dorm while she was eating lunch! They had a good visit though after a little bit of conversation, Raj took off to socialize/party with some of Mia’s roommates. Supriya stayed to talk to Mia and the two have just become “Good Friends”. Awesome! When I have friends, I usually keep just a few very good, close friends rather than having several at a time. It looks like Mia is following suit.
While she was in a socializing mood, Mia also met someone from the Art Society and was bold enough to ask to join. They accepted her! She received a poster and a shirt to wear. We’ll see how this goes as I usually suck at such things both in real life and in the Sims 4.
The next day Mia was able to get to all her classes on time. Later, her old friend Geeta invited her to the Humor & Hijinks Festival but Mia was too depressed to go. Poor Mia, depression seems to stop her from going to a lot of festivals but especially that one. At least now she can make some sad emotion paintings to finish her next aspiration milestone.
Later that day, the Art Society is having a gathering at the local bar. Let’s see how Mia does at the gathering… She’s stressed out and having a panic attack. That sounds about right. She did manage to talk to a few of the other members in spite of the stress and got promoted in the group to Seasoned Member. Now she’s depressed. Time for a drink to help her loosen up a little. At least I think it will help more than it will hurt…
Not long after she finished her drink, a fellow member invited her to play ping-pong. I love ping-pong! They played for a while until I realized it was getting past midnight. It’s time for Mia to return to the dorm and get some sleep before her classes tomorrow! As fun as ping-pong is, I’m not letting it come between Mia and her grades.
The next day Mia got to all her classes on time and finished all of her homework in time to work on yet another freelancer gig. She now has about §23,866 in funds. She used some of her extra cash to buy a pair of university sweatpants to go with her Art Society shirt. I wasn’t expecting the outfit to look quite as bad as it does. Yikes! Even Mia looks uncomfortable in that outfit. Ah well, she’ll just have to wear it for a while since I don’t feel like entering CAS right now to change it. It looks fine for university life, I guess.
It’s now Mia’s next to last day of the term and Mia is depressed. To help resolve her feelings, Mia gets on her laptop and blogs about her feelings. I’ve learned since my first experiment that she can also write in her journal or call the sadness hotline to help shorten her depressive episodes. There’s also the usual stuff of crying it out in bed or giving herself a pep talk in the mirror. Mia’s depressive episodes are both long and strong so it takes three or so of these activities to lessen the episodes to something managable.
Now that Mia is feeling a little better, I see it’s almost past time for another Art Society meeting. She had better hurry up if she doesn’t want to miss it! This time it is a gathering to do Figure Painting near the Britechester commons. I think Mia ended up painting the best one though if you look at the others, how could she not have? By the time she finished her figure painting, the gathering was over and she never got the chance to attempt socializing with anyone. Yay? Now that it’s over, Mia still has some free time and plenty of energy so she focuses on some tasks for both the society and her aspiration…
Time for a quick jont to the museum to view three paintings to satisfy both her aspiration goal and an Art Society task. Of course, I would pick a world where they’re having a severe thunderstorm! At least she didn’t get hit by lighting on her way into the museum. Also, one of her roommates tagged along even though Mia didn’t invite her. They’re not friends but are at least friendly to each other. They viewed a few artworks together and chatted a bit before Mia left and ran through the rain back to the dorm.
It’s the last day of the term so she should be getting her (hopefully) final report card later tonight and… YES! She got an A+ in every class once again! I can hardly believe it. Looks like someone we all know is going to be graduating with honors tomorrow after all. Good for you, Mia, you earned it!
It’s now the day of graduation and Mia is deeply depressed. For a quick fix, Mia tries to call the sadness hotline a couple times so she can have a happy graduation. It works well enough and Mia then enters the building to attend her graduation ceremony with a neutral mood. Here’s hoping she cheers up before the ceremony is over with.
Mia has graduated with honors and now has a distinguished degree in Fine Art! She’ll be able to get a high level job with a signing bonus and higher pay level than without a degree. No wonder she looks happy throwing that hat in the air! She has achieved her first life goal that we set out for her in the beginning of this story. What’s next?
Now that Mia has graduated, it’s time to move on from Britechester and back to San Myshuno. She has a decent amount of funds to get a good/better apartment with some upgraded furniture. She’ll also be able to get a proper 9 to 5 job with her degree and maybe it’s time to find a companion as well. We’ll see about all that tomorrow.
