SE2 Day 4 Companionship
Mia used her nearly §25,000 in funds to rent a much better and larger apartment in the Artsy part of San Myshuno at 930 Medina Studios. Like before, I sold all the furniture she didn’t need or wasn’t good enough then added some upgraded furniture including a bigger TV, better stove, better shower/tub, more comfortable bed, etc. I moved a few things around too. You can see a preview of her new apartment next to this paragraph. I also setup certain walls for her collections of snowglobes, posters, and her university stuff. You can see those below.
After moving in, Mia quit her job as a freelancer and took a new job as a “Master of the Real” (which is level 8) in the Painter career using her degree. She’ll get a higher hourly wage (§197/hour) than if she had gotten to this level without a degree plus she will get a signing bonus of §2,500! Mia starts her new career tomorrow. How will she be able to handle it with her ever changing moods and anxieties? We’ll soon find out.
Mia was at work when the neighborhood Welcome Wagon came by so she missed them completely and… I’m not sorry. What the hell are they wearing?!? I mean, seriously! The socks that the two men are wearing alone are audacious enough but combine them with everything else and… Those have to be the worst outfits in the game, right?
When Mia returns home from her first day of work, she receives a phone call that her friend Geeta has died. Mia is too manic to be sad about it but it’s still on her mind. She goes for a jog and then hunts around for some collectibles to keep her busy. I then built a custom art studio in the apartment for her with everything she should need to create her paintings and remain inspired. What do you think of it?
Even with her little art studio, this apartment feels awfully empty. I think it’s time to find a companion for Mia. Mia got on the computer to look for a little dog to adopt and found a Pug puppy named Pippa. Sounds so perfect like it was meant to be, right? I thought so, so I quickly clicked on little Pippa’s picture to try to adopt her. Pippa and someone from the adoption agency will be by the apartment shortly to see how Pippa and Mia get along. Pippa is sooooo cute!! She takes to the apartment like she owns it and quickly gets along well with Mia. I do believe this was meant to be! Mia quickly and happily adopts little Pippa.
Mia and Pippa are now friends! Mia is instantly happier now that she has an emotional support animal around. Um, why can’t Pippa go out on her own to go potty? Weren’t dogs able to do that before the last update or am I just dreaming that?* Mia has to carry Pippa outside for her to do her business then carry her back to the apartment. This is going to be a pain in the ass but she’s so cute that I think it’s going to be worth it. In truth, all puppies are cute enough to overcome the fact that taking care of them is a pain in the ass. At least that’s my life observation.
Okay, Mia took Pippa out to go potty and they saw this guy. I thought the people in the welcome wagon were weirdly dressed but this guy takes the cake! I mean, a leprechaun hat and tights and yellow socks?!? WTF?!? I think Pippa needs to do her business so they can get back to their apartment as soon as possible. Seriously. I don’t even have any of those violence mods installed yet this guy gives me such bad vibes that I just want Mia and Pippa to get away from him as soon as they can. Maybe she should lock her door too…
The next day Mia has been promoted at work! Only one more promotion until the top! She just needs to max her Painting skill and increase her Logic skill to level 6. Mia also just made her first meal using the stove and there was NO fire! This is a great day and Mia is looking proud of herself for all her accomplishments! I would be too. LOL
The next day is Freedom Fest so Mia, Raj, and Supriya head to Newcrest Park to celebrate with grilling, fireworks, and being thankful for their freedom. It’s raining, of course, but the rain doesn’t stop them from having fun. Somehow, Mia is able to grill burgers in the rain as the three of them chat away. Hilariously, no one appears to be hungry yet so the finished plate of burgers just sits there on the table in the rain for a while. They’re going to have some really soggy buns!
Mia next lights some fireworks she bought a couple weeks ago without setting herself or anything else on fire. The fireworks were pretty to watch too. After the fireworks display, Mia starts to feel depressed again. I sent her to get an iced coffee but that didn’t cheer her up at all. Poor thing. I love iced coffee but sometimes, nothing can help when depression is severe.
The rain finally stops and so the three friends enjoy the hamburgers that Mia grilled earlier… even though they should be soaked with rain but seem just fine. After their feast, they head over to the chess tables so Mia can work on her logic skill. After a few games (and no skill gain, phooey) they head over to the roller rink. Mia really, really sucks at roller skating like, um, someone else I know very well. Ha! Okay, it’s getting quite late so it’s now time to go home. Overall, it was a great holiday even if Mia did get depressed over the course of it.
Pippa welcomes Mia back to the apartment and then the two settle in for the night. Another day, another aspiration milestone completed when Mia gets back to her easel. Mia is now on the fourth and final part of her aspiration. She just needs to max her painting skill and paint five masterpieces. I used her aspiration points to purchase the reward trait “Creative Visionary”. That should help both with her aspiration and earning more money from her paintings. Oh, I almost forgot to have Mia hire an agent to negotiate higher prices for her paintings! I’ll do that now.
Now that Mia has once again earned about §15,000 and has plenty of free space in the apartment, I think it’s a good time for her to buy a treadmill. She’s lost quite a bit of weight since we started this experiment but I think she could stand to lose a little bit more. This new treadmill should help with that. Mia jumps on the treadmill and gets to work while Pippa snoozes nearby which is typical of the little couch potato… also typical of the little couch potato I have in real life named Aayla!
That’s enough for today. Tomorrow life continues for Mia Simm and her little Pippa. Will Mia be able to increase her skills and get that big promotion? Will she be able to make any new friends in this new part of town? Will she ever find love and non-dog companionship? Tune in tomorrow to find out what happens next!
