SE2 Day 9 Year’s End
The year one is almost over (that’s in Sim years which last 56 Sim days) and it’s time to get ready for a change. I’ve started building a new house for Mia and co to live in and it’s almost ready. I’ll let them live out the rest of this year in their apartment and then, in the new year, they will pack up their things and make the move out to the suburbs! I’m thinking Brindleton Bay as their new town but we shall see for sure tomorrow. For now, let’s see how Mia, Jacob, and Pippa live out their last days in the city…
Today is Winterfest in San Myshuno! Mia and Jacob both get to work decorating their tree for the festive holiday. It takes a while but the wait was worth it. Now they have a proper holiday tree from which to open presents! I think they will wait until after Father Winter gets here to open them. He brings the best presents!
After eating their grand feast, Jacob and Mia await the arrival of Father Winter. They go out to the hallway to check the mailbox for extra presents then Mia surprises Jacob with a present of her own for him. She gave him a cheap digital camera and he seemed to like the gift. Yay! For now, Mia is energetically manic. How long will this manic episode last? Will it last the rest of the holiday or will she be hit by a different type of episode? Let’s find out!
Father Winter finally arrives as Mia and Jacob talk to one of their neighbors in the hallway. He gave Mia a brand new, high quality camera! He gave Jacob a Future Cube which he didn’t like and was quickly sold from his inventory. Father Winter then went into the apartment and put some extra presents under the Voss family tree.
And, neither Mia nor Jacob liked the presents they got from under the tree. LOL Well, better luck next year! At least the tree looks pretty still. I didn’t bother to turn the tree’s lights on for fear of causing a fire. Once burned, twice shy! At least the bad presents didn’t make Mia depressed. She managed to stay somewhat neutral and happy for the rest of the evening.
It’s now New Year’s Eve! Mia and Jacob each have a drink and toast to the New Year. They also set their resolutions for the New Year. Jacob chooses to Write a Book since that seemed easy to me given that he is a skilled writer who has to write books for his job anyway. Mia chooses to Complete an Aspiration which also seemed easy to me since she only has one more task to complete before her Painter aspiration is complete.
With all the holiday traditions save one completed, Mia and Jacob turn to their TV at 11PM to watch the New Year’s Countdown. As the clock counts down from 11:30PM to midnight, the two chant “sha-shoobie”. I have no idea what that could possibly translate to. At least everyone seems happy and comfortable.
The next day I packed up all of the family’s unique items such as photographs, career rewards, and Mia’s diploma (packed them into the game’s Family Inventory). Now to move the three of them out of San Myshuno and into the little house I built for them in Brindleton Bay. You’ll get to see all about that tomorrow!
