SE Day 13 Birthday Blues
I think it’s time for another change. Mia doesn’t really need her Painter job anymore and the work schedule is keeping her from doing just about anything else. Right now they have funds of §220,980 and Seth makes about §1,000 a day at his job plus an average of §4,000 in book royalties so I wouldn’t say they’re hurting for money anymore. I only wanted Mia to take the Painter career to get access to the higher quality easels but now I’d rather focus on her archaeology skills. So, Mia quit her job first thing and will now focus on improving her skills such as Logic so she can make another expedition to Selvadorada at some point.
Today is Seth’s birthday as he makes the transition from Young Adult to Adult. Mia bakes him a Sugar-Free Carob Coconut Cake then calls to arrange a party for him even though she is feeling depressed. She also cooks a taco casserole to make sure everyone has enough food to eat. The party was a golden success and Seth has aged up.
Later Mia took another look at those strange artifacts she found earlier in Selvadorada and realized they could be assembled! So, she assembled a top and a base but something was missing. She then “Refined a Crystal” on the Archaeology Table and inserted the crystal into the assembled totem… and nothing happened. I then clicked on the assembled totem again and saw the word “Activate”. Well, let’s take a chance, shall we?
The assembled totem starts glowing then lifts up into the air over Mia’s head. She is apparently “blessed by the gods” but it seems, at first, that that’s all that is going to happen… that is until Patella Corporis appears and scares the crap out of Mia before she then turns curious and then cheers. So just who is this friendly skeleton and what will it do?
After a short chat with Mia, Patella then went around the entire house cleaning everything in sight. After it was done cleaning and taking out the trash, it made dinner for Mia and Seth! Pippie seems indifferent to Patella for now. I was expecting some kind of extreme reaction but got none from the little pup. Seth got scared of Patella when Patella’s head popped off for a moment then was quickly reassembled. He now seems cool with having a skeleton walking around the house doing chores.
For now though, it’s the day of GeekCon so Seth and Mia headed back to the city for their favorite festival. Mia was able to enter the hackathon and get a 47% score right before it started to rain. She then got a burger to eat and Seth held an umbrella over her while she ate! So sweet! Granted, he did make eyes at a cosplayer while holding the umbrella but hey, nobody’s perfect! Shortly before they left, the winners of the hackathon were announced and Mia won first place. She got a new PC! Lucky Mia!
On the day of Mia’s birthday and transition to full adulthood, she was still feeling incredibly depressed. I feel for you Mia! She didn’t seem in the mood for a party so she just baked herself a cake, blew out the candles, then played video games all while Seth was relaxing in the sauna. Now both Mia and Seth have aged up to full Adults. In 40 – 45 Sim days, they’ll be Elders. I wonder what will happen between now and then?
Sorry for the short post today but my own health is getting in the way of my Sims. I’ll be running this story for two more days and then it will go on the back-burner while I do something else. That means Day 15 will be the end, for now.
