SE Day 15 And So It Ends
On yesterday’s entry, Mia was cursed by the ancient Omiscan gods and marked for death. She raced to the nearby cantina in the hopes someone would know of an antidote to this curse. A friendly local crafted an antidote for her but will it work? Find out today in this, the final entry of my Sims 4 Bipolar Experiment.
Mia has drank the antidote and… turns into a skeleton?!?! Is this good or bad??? The popup says that this is considered a blessing. Um… Well, all her needs are full now and staying that way. It says this will last 12 hours. We shall see what happens next! Until then, let’s go do what we were going to do anyway.
Mia heads back into the jungle and opens a new passageway that had been locked in stone during her last trip. At least I think it was. Anyway, it’s a temple. Mia enters the temple and starts examining each and every mechanism she comes across so she can safely make her way into the temple’s central chamber and to the precious loot.
She chose poorly. Mia is set on fire after pulling the wrong level in the temple. Luckily she had some fire foam on hand and quickly put the fire out but it left her dangerously singed. Another wrong move could kill her! Can she die in skeletal form? She hasn’t much time left in that form so we shall see.
Back at her vacation rental house, Mia gets to work at the archaeology table uncovering the artifacts from the many dirt clumps she found and then authenticating all the rest of the artifacts found. She worked on about a dozen artifacts and managed to get to Archaeology skill level 10! That’s the second of her three aspiration goals now completed! Hey, the popup just said that I completed the Artifact collection. Cool!
Mia is hurting for some fun and the only fun thing to do in this house is read. Luckily, Mia is a Geek and they love sci-fi novels of which there happens to be one in the bookcase. While her Fun need refills quickly, she gets a call from the past. Remember her very first and very disastrous date with Johnny Zest? Well, he just called to ask her out again. I think not, Johnny!
Mia then goes back into the jungle one last time to see if there are any passages that she previously missed and finds one which leads to yet another undiscovered temple. After successfully activating a certain mechanism, Mia receives a special blessing that causes her to have her own source of personal sunshine. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine… She later opens another treasure chest and collects even more goodies.
It’s time to finish things up here and go home. Mia returns to the cantina and gathers a group of locals to whom she gives her very first archaeology lecture to. It is a success and Mia fulfills her final aspiration goal. I think she’s now done all she can in Selvadorada. Time to go home and sort through all these wondrous artifacts she found.
There were several duplicates but I weeded those out and placed all of the best of Mia’s finds into three display cases. You can see Mia’s full artifact collection in the screenshots below. What is the most valuable of all her artifacts? Why it’s that tiny bejeweled frog! I would have figured it would be the golden calendar disk but what do I know?
Now safely back home, it’s time to return to normal life. That’s where we leave Mia, Pippie, and Seth; back home, living a normal life in spite of Mia’s challenging mental illness. If there’s one thing I learned from this is that bipolar doesn’t have to hold you back. It’s still possible to function and, more importantly, live even while suffering from a severe case of this illness. Granted, I have more going on than just bipolar but watching Mia has both entertained me and given me some small hope that maybe I can make it too. I might not travel to South American and become a skeleton, but maybe one day I’ll hold a steady job, live on my own, and marry a cute guy after forcing him to get rid of his manbun… just like Mia.
