Simularity Update 125
I’ve been BUSY working on new stuff! I’ve got several things for you today and I’ll have even more soon. I even, finally, updated my avatar and fixed my logo. Now the text has a black outline so it matches the text on all my mod and cc header images. I’ve been meaning to do this for quite a while. I’m so glad I finally got it done. I am also finally updating my Instagram again. To be honest, I forgot I had it! LOL I’ll try to keep it fresh now. I also joined Threads so feel free to follow me there too if you’d like. I’m @simularitysims there just as I am on Twitter. Now for the mods!
First off is a very helpful mod if you enjoy the Bowling Night SP. It’s called the Take Turns Bowling Fix. It makes it so that when Sims are bowling, they focus solely on bowling instead of socializing or anything else when it’s their turn to bowl. That used to annoy me so much! There’s another mod that’s supposed to fix this, but it’s broken and mine uses a completely different modality to fix the problem.
Next up is Stop Dogs from Drinking/Playing In Puddles. When dogs would play in puddles or drink them it used to only partially bother me, and it is possible to train them not to do either without using cheats or mods. Then Horse Ranch EP came out and most of those puddles that my little dog was drinking and playing in were horse pee. That bothered me and my damn dog wouldn’t learn to stop quickly enough for my nerves. So, I created this mod to stop them from doing any of that without the need to be trained. They just don’t do it at all now with this new mod.
I had been wanting to create a trait just for Spellcasters ever since Realm of Magic GP was released but I couldn’t come up with anything good… until now! The Magickal Trait will help you create the Ultimate Spellcaster! You can add it either to current Spellcasters or normal Sims in CAS who later learn spellcasting. It doesn’t have any benefits for non-Spellcasters.
Finally, we have the Mystical Trait for Horses. As I’ll detail later in this post, I updated the Easy Does It Trait for Horses to remove the “no aging or dying” along with adding some new features. The Mystical Trait will now be the one to add if you want your horses to stay young and never die. This was a necessary change, trust me! There are other features in this new trait as well so please check out its post.
I updated the Events Aspiration Fix that is available in all of my Event Mods’ zip files. What this does is update the parameters for the Maxis-made Party Aspiration so that it will register my custom events as counting towards its party goals. In addition to my own events, I added several newer Maxis-made events that they apparently forgot to update the aspiration with.
As I mentioned, I updated the Easy Does It Horse Trait. Now Temperance Training is a little easier/happens faster. I also made training and using training objects to be Fun for horses with this trait. Now their Fun motive won’t solely be fixed by that buggy horse ball! I removed the no dying and no aging from the trait (you’ll need the Mystical Horse Trait for that).
I noticed that there were some bad weather types during which dogs were still whining for a walk. So, I updated my Stop Dogs from Whining During Storms to add more bad weather types for them not to whine during.
It was reported that several game generated stray dogs and cats were showing up with some of my traits intended only for humans. I have now fixed this by adding a human-only restriction to the following updated traits: Dementia Trait, Crafter Trait, Comedian Trait, Artist Trait, Clinical Depression Trait, Fearful Trait, Farmer Trait, and Seasonal Affective Disorder Trait. I also fixed the Wants priority in several of those traits so you should no longer be getting custom trait wants so increadibly often. I had them set at a 95 priority for testing purposes then forgot to change it to the default game priority for traits which is 10. As you can imagine, that makes quite a difference!
Finally, thanks to Wenwenbalala, the following mods now have Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) translations: Coffee Preference, Psychology Career 2.0, Welfare Career, and Mental Health Medications.
I have two brand-new aspirations in the works right now. I just need to work out a few bugs on each then they will be ready to go. I am also overhauling my Paranormal Trait to have more features and just be a better/more fun trait. I also have some more tuning mods in the works including the beginning of Vol. 2 of my Don’t Do That Mods and some more pack fixes. You may have noticed, or not, that I took down some mod posts. This is because I will soon be replacing them with better mods or combining them into one mod with more features. Stay tuned!
