Artist Trait (Refresh)
Yet another trait inspired by my own life experience (what can I say, it’s easier to draw upon my own experiences than to completely make something up). I upgraded this trait with a ton of new features in 2026. You can see a list of all of the features of this trait below this paragraph. Artist seems learn artistic skills faster, have more fun doing artistic activities, excel in art related careers but like with most real-world artists they have more difficulty at becoming famous than other Sims. Artist Sims will even get that old “Artistic Itch” if they haven’t been artistic for too long and feel stressed out. Artist Sims mainly focus on Painting but more skills and activities may be added later.
Features:
- Many unique icons including the main trait icon
- LOTS of buffs for everything from doing various artistic activities to social interactions and all have various related benefits
- Some unique buffs will happen at random with various gameplay effects
- Seven new social interactions with reactionary buffs, hidden benefits, and all in their own Social Pie Menu category
- Increased skill gains for Painting activities
- Painting is now more Fun
- New autonomy modifiers to push them to do artistic activities and hold them back from doing certain other things
- Increased performance gains for the Painter and Freelance Digital Artist careers
- Artist Sims who haven’t been actively artistic by doing supported activities will become stressed out over time unless they get back to their art
- Several new artistically themed Wants with more to come
- This and all my traits will soon be more integrated with each other for a better overall experience (for instance, Sims with this Artist Trait do not get along too well with Sims who have my Tech Savvy Trait)

February 18, 2026 – Fixed the “Artistic Itch” feature from applying itself to Sims without this trait. Fixed the autonomy pushes so that Artist Sims will want to paint more and not want to interact with technology so much.
