Simularity News 017
Just a few more days until the next expansion pack release! Are you looking forward to it? I like the idea of dueling but I’m not sure about the rest. Still, I’ll be adding it to my game so I can mod it for you all.
By the way, do you like my new avatar for 2026? I think I’ve got it added to everywhere Simularity needs an avatar. I think.
New Mods
Artist Trait (Refresh) – Early Access until February 23, 2026 – I’ve been working on this new trait refresh for quite a while, and it is packed full of personality and lots of new features. It will be released as an early access mod on my Patreon and then available here publicly on February 23rd.
Tech Savvy Trait – Early Access until February 23, 2026 – Another new trait I’ve been working on to put as much fun into it as possible. There are a ton of features in this new trait! It will be released as an early access mod on my Patreon and then available here publicly on February 23rd.
Don’t Do That Vol. 3 – Available Now – A new volume of mods to stop your Sims from doing annoying things! This volume starts off with seven Don’t mods with many more, I’m sure, to come.
Faster Games – Available Now – This replaces my “Shorter Console Games” mod. This new mod set will make all console and computer video games finish faster so your Sim can still have fun and get those buffs without losing half their day.
Stop ALL Festival Notifications – Available Now – A brand-new mod that I decided to go ahead and release now rather than making it early access this time. This mod does exactly as it says, it stops all of the notifications for all festivals from all of the packs.
Mod Updates
Master Crafter Trait – Updated to remove support for broken mods by PiedPiper. Added support for the Paper Crafting Skill from the Adventure Awaits expansion pack.
Invite Any Toddlers to Play Dates – Updated the Sim filter so that you can’t accidentally invite certain Sims that shouldn’t be possible to invite.
Reading Custom Preference – An earlier error caused the mod to continuously ask if you “Dislike Reading” if you chose to dislike it. That has been fixed now. (Who dislikes reading?!?)
Public Welfare “Career” – Updated to count a Sim’s stepchildren and expanded the mod so that now the limit is “four or more children” for the highest payout (it was previously three or more). I also fixed several errors I noticed while testing the new features. I may make a few more tweaks to it down the line.
Remember! If you are a Patreon patron, you can download either all of the recently updated mods in one zip file or all of my mods in one zip file depending on your membership level. (Check the benefits list under each tier.)
Coming Soon
I’m hard at work on the Refresh of my Rock Star Career. I’ve got the basics coded and in testing. There are still several features I want to add and then test out before it’s ready for release. I want to add a new “agent” system, new chance cards with lesser penalties and a “skip this” option, new social interactions depending on career level, new computer and phone interactions depending on career level, new rewards, and more. This is going to be a fun one once done! Hmm… Maybe I should rename it to “Classic Rock Career” because that’s what it is based on. If you’re a fan of the classics (and especially the Beatles) you are sure to catch a lot of little jokes and easter eggs.
In addition to all that, I’m also working on some more trait refreshes whenever that career mod seems to get too overwhelming for me. I want to make all of my traits on the same level of complexity as my new Artist and Tech Savvy are. I also want them all to work together (or against each other) like Maxis traits do and beyond that. I also want to refresh a few (or all) of my older Lot Traits. I started brainstorming ways of improving my Spellcaster Covenstead lot trait last night. I’ll try to keep you posted on my progress.
Oh, I noticed something… most of my event mods are, uh, boring. I’m currently researching ways I could spice them up a bit while making them more fun and useful.
